I live a healthy, fantastic life dedicated to learning as much as I can about myself, my body, and my role here on this planet.

I have found that my body is fueled best on a diet that consists mostly of whole food plants, seeds, organic eggs, and the occasional MSC-certified salmon.  I love getting in the kitchen and getting my hands dirty. And then sharing the goodies with you.

I have been sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian/pescetarian for the past four years.  I rid my body of Candida Albicans (yeast overgrowth), and regained not only my health, but a natural, healthy weight that I have been able to effortlessly maintain — we’re talkin’ 70+ pounds of fat and toxins, forever gone.

Did this road to health happen overnight? Of course not. It was a journey that took years to unfold; a journey that took a lot of research, many tears, beautiful inner strength and support from those I love.  It is a road I am still grateful and humbled to be traveling on, as my own story of finding health spurred an inner passion to help others that I hadn’t even known existed prior.

As I continue on my journey, I’m always working on furthering my health and well-being.  Right now, I’m experimenting with removing grains and legumes from my diet – it’s great to experiment with foods to see how they may help or hinder your body! I’m also working on toning my body to create lean muscles and strong bones.  I try to go to the gym regularly (I love Bodypump, Zumba, Hip Hop classes, yoga, and water aerobics!), but I don’t stress myself out if it doesn’t happen daily.  I’m much more concerned that I live in balance, gratitude, and joy.  These life goals will help me in body, mind, and spirit just as much as (and if not more than) hitting the gym daily.

I received health coach training and certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I studied over one hundred dietary theories and a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Most importantly, I learned about Bio-Individuality, the theory that each person is a unique individual with highly individualized nutritional requirements. This is at the forefront of every program I lead. My background also includes a degree in Women’s Studies and Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
